Backflow Testing in Austin
Backflow Testing by Certified Technicians for Austin Irrigation Systems
At Conserva Irrigation of West Austin, we provide professional backflow testing and prevention services in Austin to protect your drinking water from contamination. Backflow occurs when water flows in the opposite direction, potentially allowing pollutants like fertilizers, pesticides, and other harmful substances to enter the potable water system. Our trained and certified technicians inspect backflow device components and provide testing support for irrigation-related assemblies.
Our services are designed for homeowners, homeowners associations, and commercial property owners or managers. We use tested and approved devices, including the pressure vacuum breaker (PVB) and reduced pressure zone valve (RPZ). A pressure vacuum breaker (PVB) helps address back-siphonage caused by a drop in supply pressure, while a reduced pressure zone valve (RPZ) is designed for back-siphonage and backpressure conditions.

Why Irrigation Backflow Prevention Matters in Austin
Backflow events can occur when there is an unexpected change in water pressure, such as during a water main break or heavy water use nearby. Without the proper prevention systems in place, these changes can cause contaminated water to flow backward into your clean water supply. Irrigation cross-connections can expose that supply to fertilizers, pesticides, soil organisms, and animal waste.
Austin Water subjects qualifying backflow prevention assemblies associated with irrigation systems and other cross-connections to testing and reporting requirements. Annual testing applies to specified assemblies, with the applicable due date determined by Austin Water records and requirements. Testing confirms whether an assembly is operating as intended at the time of inspection and identifies conditions that may require maintenance or corrective work.
Irrigation Knowledge Behind Every Backflow Test
A backflow prevention assembly is connected to a larger irrigation system. Our irrigation-focused approach allows us to consider the device alongside the system it serves, whether we’re opening, maintaining, repairing, or evaluating that system. This service is available for residential and commercial irrigation customers.
We use professional technicians, tested and approved devices, and water-conscious irrigation practices. Our focus on Water conservation guides how we approach backflow prevention as part of responsible irrigation-system care and local resource conservation. We back our work with a satisfaction guarantee.
