Water Conservation During Drought Relies Heavily on Outdoor Water Restrictions

Since outdoor water usage is not always necessary, outdoor water restrictions are the best method for defending ourselves during drought.

Targeting outdoor water use with restrictions not only saves water but still keeps your lawn and garden healthy. "Texas Living Waters reports" that homeowners *over-water by as much as 2-3 times the amount* needed. With water restrictions in place, water is conserved, plants survive, and residents are encouraged (through stiff penalties) to comply. *Murphy County*

Two Days Per Week Between 6 pm and 10 am the following day. No watering during the middle of the day.

  • Residential street addresses ending in odd numbers water on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • Residential street addresses ending in even numbers water on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
  • Public Schools, Businesses, City, and HOA entries may water on Fridays and Tuesdays only.

*The Woodlands Joint Powers*

  • Odd Addresses 8pm-6am Friday-Saturday & Tuesday-Wednesday
  • Even Addresses 8pm-6am Saturday-Sunday & Wednesday-Thursday

*North Harris County Regional Water Authority *

Water between 7 pm and 5 am of the following day.

  • Even Addresses Sundays and Thursdays
  • Odd Addresses Saturdays and Wednesdays
  • Commercial Properties: Tuesdays and Fridays

*City of Conroe*

You may only water two times per week, overnight or early morning, between 5 pm and 8 am.
